Dr. Test Prep in Action
Title I High School, Georgia
Dr. Michelle Ihrig created and implemented a free, voluntary SAT prep program (very similar to Dr. Test Prep) at a Title I high school during the 2020-2021 school year. Despite statewide declines in participation due to colleges dropping the SAT requirement, students in the Dr. Test Prep program chose to participate and test at higher rates than their county and state peers.
- 300+ students participated in the program from 2020-2021
- 200 students voluntarily took the SAT in 2020-2021
- The school's participation rate declined only 14% from the 2019-2020 school year vs. decreases of 32% (county) and 31% (state) participation rates
Result: When access and encouragement meet, participation rises—even when testing is optional.

Dr. Michelle Ihrig — also known as Dr. Test Prep and Doc Chelle — has been helping students boost their SAT scores since 2003. Over the years, she’s supported thousands of learners through her free SAT lessons on YouTube and in-school sessions across the country.
